Rain-X challenged us to find a way to help unify the overall look and feel of Rain-X product packages. Effectively communicate cross-functional use capabilities and product benefits. Develop a common hierarchy and way-finding system for information. Amplify brand associations including tech, modern and luxe. Appeal to a younger demographic who may or may not be knowledgeable on automotive care and maintenance.
We considered how other CPG brands are packaging functional products such as razors, deodorant, and other male focused consumer brands as these all typically communicate a lot of information and warnings with limited label real estate. Dark, matte colors, subtle textures, and clean lines were incorporated into the design to ensure simplicity and luxe, while also allowing flexibility system.
